What makes the difference between a good and a stunning collection?

Erdem gibt uns die Antwort. Inspiriert von dem 1965 gedrehten Film „Pleasures of the Flesh“ von Nagasi Oshima, verwendete Erdem Moralioglu überwiegend strahlende und leuchtende Farben so wie verspielte und geblümte Muster. Bedingt durch die klaren Linien und Silhouetten erscheint die gesamte Kollektion dennoch anspruchsvoll, jedoch in einer sehr femininen Art und Weise.

Ein weiteres Resultat seiner Inspiration, ist, dass er anfing verschiedene Dinge zu mixen, die nicht wirklich zueinander passen, was sich in den komplexen und überraschenden Kombinationen von Materialien, wie Leder, Spitze, Organza und Vinyl äußert.

Erdem erzählte WWD, dass Pre-Fall ihm die Chance gäbe, mit Techniken zu spielen, wofür er nicht unbedingt in den Hauptkollektionen die Gelegenheit hätte. Außerdem liebe er die Idee sich mit etwas zu befassen, dass er noch nicht erforscht hätte. Vogue erzählt er, die Pre-Fall Kollektion sei sein Labor, wo er experimentieren und darüber nachdenken könne, wohin seine Vorstellung einer Frau als nächstes gehe.

Erdem überzeugt uns hier schon so sehr mit seiner Zwischensaison, dass wir uns sofort in sie verliebten und auf jeden Fall mehr davon sehen und natürlich haben wollen!

Erdem gives us the answer. Inspired by the 1965 film „Pleasures of the Flesh“ from Nagisa Oshima, Erdem Moralioglu used a lot of bright colors as well as playful and floral prints. Due to the clear lines and silhouettes the whole collection still appears sophisticated, but in a real feminin way. 

Another result of his source of inspiration ist that he started „mixing things that don’t really go together“ which is manifested in the complex and surprising  combinations of materials like leather, lace, organza and vinyl.  

Erdem told WWD that Pre-Fall gives him the chance „to play with techniques that I wouldn’t necessarily have the opportunity to explore in the main collection. And I like the idea of looking at something I haven’t explored before, like tailored dresses or frock coats“.  To Vogue he said:„It’s my laboratory, it’s where I can experiment, and think about where my woman’s going next.“

As far as we are concerned we would say that the outcome of his effort and ambition to this experimental collection is a real succes and we are already in love! We definitely want to see more like this!
