The story of Oscar and John

After we heard that Oscar de la Renta had invited John Galliano to join his studio for some time, we could obviously not wait for this collection to be shown to see what has come out of this.
Galliano’s influence appeared not only in the wraped jackets which were worn over the knee-lenght skirts and reminded strongly of Dior’s well known ‚bar’-jacket, but also when the girls suddenly wore dark-eyed makeup to the evening gowns and cocktail dresses. All in all the whole collection appears conservative, but in a positive, classy, elegant and especially due to the colors modern way. What a beautiful and stunning collection!

Selbstverständlich waren wir, nachdem letzten Monat bekannt wurde, dass Oscar de la Renta John Galliano zu sich einlud um mit ihm für einige Zeit zusammenzuarbeiten, sehr gespannt auf das Ergebnis dieser Verbindung.
Gallianos Einfluss tauchte nicht nur in den gewickelten Jacken auf, welche über die Knielangen engen Röcke getragen wurden und stark an Diors Jacke des Kostüm Klassikers ‚Bar’ erinnerte. Selbst bei dem Makeup, dass zu den Abendkleidern und Cocktailkleidern plötzlich sehr dunkel um die Augen wurde, konnte man seine Anwesenheit spüren. Alles in allem kann man sagen, dass diese Kollektion eher konservativ wirkt, das jedoch in einer positiven, stilvollen, eleganten und gerade durch die Farben modernen und frischen Art. Was für eine wunderschöne und umwerfende Kollektion!
